Overview
ULTRAX is a light weight lubricant originally designed for use in the power steering pumps of Off Road vehicles. ULTRAX may also be used as a gear lubricant. ULTRAX combines a high quality, temperature stable fluid, with extreme pressure lubricants. ULTRAX is a 7wt. Lubricant that will reduce friction and wear. By reducing friction the heat generated by the pumping action is also reduced, thus allowing the fluid to run at a cooler temperature. ULTRAX will reduce foaming and “boiling” of the pump fluid. ULTRAX has excellent heat carrying characteristics further aiding in the cooling of lubricated parts.
When used as a gear lubricant ULTRAX will reduce friction and drag as well as lower operating temperature. ULTRAX works especially well in standard transmission that normally run ATF or similar light weight lubricants. ULTRAX may also be used in spools or locker type differentials. Do not use in “positraction” type units that have a wet clutch system. In independent testing ULTRAX has shown a measurable H.P. gain over high quality synthetic gear lubricants. ULTRAX is also available in a 40wt, which is recommended for applications where a normal gear lubricant has been used. The use of ULTRAX 7wt in differentials requires a change in the clearance of the ring and pinion gears.

Test #1: Straight Power Steering Fluid: 215 degrees F. Fluid quickly heated and puked out of reservoir and box within 5 minutes. Pump noisy when turning. Not squealing but can hear effort being exerted. Test #2: 2/3 PS Fluid 1/3 Ultra X Gear Lube: Same test: 209 degrees F. Still heated enough to make reservoir and box puke, but took a few minutes. Pump quieter, but still noticeable. Test #3: Straight Ultra X. 199 Degrees F. Puked after 20 MINUTES of HARD use, but only as a slight dribble. Pump quieter, but still noticeable. NOTE: All test temps taken at steering box end cover, not fluid itself.
